- MENOPAUSE & PERIMENOPAUSE
Menopause Is Not a Disease…
Are Hormonal Changes Affecting the Way You Feel?
Perimenopause can begin 5 to 10 years before menopause—and for many women, the transition can be more disruptive than menopause itself.
During perimenopause, hormone levels can fluctuate significantly. These changes may affect your sleep, energy, mood, metabolism, sexual health, and overall sense of well-being.
You may find yourself thinking:
“Why don’t I feel like myself anymore?”
If you are experiencing several of the symptoms below, it may be time to take a closer look at your hormones and overall health.

You Can Feel Like Yourself Again
Menopause is a natural stage of life—but that doesn’t mean you have to struggle unnecessarily with symptoms that interfere with your quality of life.
For appropriate patients, menopausal hormone therapy (MHT/HRT) may be an option for managing certain symptoms of menopause and perimenopause.
Hormone therapy may use estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, or other hormones depending on the individual’s circumstances, symptoms, medical history, and treatment needs.
- A WHOLE-PERSON VIEW
It’s About More Than Hormones
Hormonal changes are only one part of the picture.
The goal is not simply to prescribe a hormone.
A comprehensive evaluation includes:
01
Thyroid function
02
Nutritional status
03
Metabolic health
04
Sleep
05
Stress
06
Medications
07
Lifestyle factors
08
Other medical conditions that may contribute to your symptoms
The goal is to understand what is happening and develop an individualized treatment plan that addresses your needs.
- A COMMON QUESTION
What About “Bioidentical” Hormones?
The term “bioidentical” generally refers to hormones that have the same molecular structure as hormones naturally produced by the human body.
Some FDA-approved hormone products are bioidentical, while compounded hormone preparations may also be marketed as “bioidentical.”
Compounded hormone therapy is not automatically safer or more effective simply because it is described as “natural” or “bioidentical.” The choice of product, dose, route of administration, and monitoring should be individualized and discussed with a qualified healthcare professional.
